The Field Marshal met local notables and veterans, reaffirming the nation’s steadfast solidarity with Kashmiris amid persistent tensions along the Line of Control

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir during a visit to Muzaffarabad on Thursday.

The Field Marshal met with local notables and veterans, underlining the country’s enduring solidarity with Kashmiris amid ongoing tensions along the Line of Control. He condemned Indian atrocities, persistent human rights violations, and Hindutva-driven excesses, noting that such measures had failed to suppress the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Addressing attendees, Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Kashmiri cause, declaring that the region would “soon witness the dawn of freedom,” in accordance with the will of its people. He emphasized that Islamabad would continue to highlight the Kashmir issue in all relevant international forums until a just resolution was achieved in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

During the visit, Field Marshal paid homage to the martyrs of the freedom struggle, laying a wreath at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs Monument and paying tribute to those who had sacrificed their lives for the cause. He also visited a forward post, where he interacted with troops deployed on the frontlines, commending their high morale, professional excellence, and unwavering readiness despite challenging operational conditions.

Field Marshal Munir stressed the importance of maintaining peak operational preparedness and seamless coordination across all domains, warning that any act of aggression against Pakistan would be met with an immediate and decisive response. His remarks highlighted both the conventional and hybrid threats faced by the region, and the Armed Forces’ commitment to deterring and countering them effectively.

Earlier, upon his arrival, the Field Marshal was received by the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps, reflecting the formal significance of the visit. Observers noted that his presence in Muzaffarabad reinforced Pakistan’s political and military stance on Kashmir while paying tribute to the sacrifices of those involved in the ongoing struggle.
