SUKKUR: A surprise inspection near Agha Water Park on the Deh Khanpur Bypass led to the discovery of a food adulteration operation involving cooking oil, officials said.
The raid was carried out by the assistant commissioner Khairpur, Arslan Hyder Phulpoto, who found super oil being mixed with animal fat extracted from chicken legs, a practice officials said posed a serious risk to public health. The adulterated oil and related material were seized and sealed on the spot. The confiscated items were handed over to the food safety officer for further legal proceedings.
Police arrested two people allegedly involved in the illegal activity and took them into custody. Authorities said strict action was being taken against those responsible and stressed that such operations were part of ongoing efforts to protect public health. Officials said the swift response sent a clear message that adulteration and similar malpractices would not be tolerated.
