DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, has called for full medical facilities for Imran Khan while in custody, including access to a doctor of his choice, citing humanitarian values and eastern traditions.
Addressing rising security concerns, Fazl ur Rehman urged that political differences should not escalate into conflict that disrupts public life or social order. He expressed particular concern over the recent deadly attack on police in Paniala, Dera Ismail Khan, which left SHO Faheem Mumtaz and four personnel dead.
Fazl ur Rehman called on the Inspector General of Police to order a thorough investigation into how terrorists seized the SHO’s official SMG despite heavy CTD presence, and why an armored vehicle was not provided during operations in challenging mountainous terrain.
