DADU: The Model Criminal Trial Court has adjourned the hearing of the high-profile case concerning the murder of three members of the Chandio family to 20 February. During the proceedings, the family’s representative, Um-e-Rabab Chandio, appeared in court and later spoke to the media outside.

She alleged that the suspects named in the case are linked to the ruling party and claimed that even the most powerful current authorities are backing elements involved in the killings. Um Rabab said she has remained steadfast in pursuing justice despite pressures from influential political and tribal figures attempting to manipulate evidence.

“The struggle against the feudal system and for justice is not easy, especially when the opposing side is politically strong and influential,” she said. She added that her legal team ensured all testimony and evidence were formally recorded, despite long cross-examinations that stretched over nearly ten months.

Due to court restrictions on coverage, she addressed the media from her vehicle outside the courthouse. Security concerns led to the temporary closure of surrounding roads during the proceedings. The case is widely regarded as one of the most sensitive in Sindh, attracting attention from across the province.
