KARACHI: The 18th Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the MBJ School of Nursing at Kharadar General Hospital marked a milestone for the graduating cohort and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to excellence in healthcare education.
The event was attended by former federal minister for commerce, industry and production Dr Gauhar Ejaz as chief guest. He praised the hospital’s dedicated services and state-of-the-art nursing school. Highlighting the transformative power of charity, Zakat, and helping others in the path of Allah, he said true societal progress begins with improving the lives of ordinary people.
Dr Ejaz acknowledged the pivotal role of NGOs and philanthropists in advancing education and healthcare in Pakistan. He commended M. Bashir JanMuhammad, president of Kharadar General Hospital, for upholding a century-long legacy of providing quality services to underprivileged communities. He also stressed the growing global demand for nurses and described nursing as a noble and dignified profession that improves lives worldwide.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic lamp lighting and oath-taking, where student nurses pledged to deliver compassionate, ethical, and high-quality healthcare. Distinguished guests, including Arif Habib, Khalid Tawab, Haji Ghani Haji Usman, Dr Dabeer Ahmed Khan, and Mian Zahid Hussain, attended, celebrating the students’ accomplishments and the hospital’s ongoing contributions to community welfare.
