HANGU: An important jirga of elders from Orakzai district was held at the Commissioner House in Kohat under the chairmanship of Kohat Division Commissioner Syed Moatasim Billah Shah. The meeting included detailed discussions on the overall law and order situation in the region, ongoing development projects, and matters related to the construction of the district complex.
Participants included Chairman DEDC Orakzai and Member of the Provincial Assembly Aurangzeb Khan, DIG Kohat Irfan Tariq, Deputy Commissioner Orakzai Muhammad Irfanuddin, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, Secretary to Commissioner Imtiaz Ali Shah, as well as other relevant officials from the police and district administration.
The jirga conducted a comprehensive review of the overall security situation and agreed on coordinated and effective measures to ensure the protection of life and property of the public. Participants expressed their commitment to continue full cooperation with the Pakistan Army, police, and district administration to establish and maintain lasting peace in the area, while keeping a close watch on the activities of anti-state elements.
On the occasion, participants were given a detailed briefing on ongoing development activities in Orakzai district, particularly in the sectors of health, education, and communications. The elders expressed satisfaction with the government’s initiatives, appreciated the efforts, and termed them essential for public welfare.
The jirga reaffirmed its resolve not to hesitate in making any sacrifice for the establishment of peace and order, national security, and public development. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the early completion of the district complex so that all government services could be made available to the public under one roof.
