KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), acting on intelligence information, conducted an operation in the Sherpao Colony area of Karachi and arrested four suspects belonging to the “Amri Dacoit Group,” which is involved in multiple incidents of robbery and street crime.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Imran alias Machhar son of Sultan Khan, Ghufran son of Syed Fazal Mastan Shah, Nazir son of Khambir Jokhio, and Muhammad Zeeshan Awan son of Muhammad Arzam. Weapons and other items recovered from their possession include two 9mm pistols with ammunition, one motorcycle, three mobile phones, and cash.
According to details, the arrested suspects, along with their accomplices, were involved in numerous incidents of robbery and street crime in various areas of Karachi, including Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road, Steel Town, Malir, and Shah Latif Town.
The prime suspect, Imran alias Machhar, is reportedly involved in armed robberies amounting to approximately Rs47 million, as well as multiple incidents including the theft of two and a half kilograms of gold from a jewelry shop and over 800 mobile phones. Another suspect, Ghufran, had allegedly shot and killed a person in the 89 Mor area of Landhi.
The arrested suspects are habitual offenders, and multiple FIRs have been registered against them at various police stations in Karachi. Raids are being conducted to apprehend their remaining accomplices. The suspects, along with the recovered weapons, ammunition, and stolen items, have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
