Dera Ismail Khan: In a strict enforcement drive against profiteering, authorities in Dera Ismail Khan conducted inspections of local markets under the supervision of Commissioner Daud Khan and Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan.

Assistant Commissioner Paharpur, Dr. Hamid, led teams across Chashma, Umar Khel Pakka, Kari Khisor, Bulot, Dhakki, Kot Jai, Rangpur, and Paharpur, reviewing prices of essential items including chicken, gram flour, sugar, rice, vegetables, and fruits. Surprise inspections were also conducted during iftar hours in Rangpur, Syed Aliyan, Dhalla, and Hafizabad bazaars.

During the operation, one shopkeeper was arrested and sent to lock-up for violating official prices, four shops were sealed, and multiple traders were fined a total of Rs29,000 for overcharging customers.

The Assistant Commissioner emphasized that strict measures would continue to prevent profiteering, instructing shopkeepers to prominently display price lists and warning that no leniency would be shown toward price violations. The crackdown aims to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-approved rates for the public.
