KARACHI: The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine held its White Coat Ceremony 2026 in Karachi, marking the formal beginning of academic training for newly admitted dental students and reaffirming the institute’s commitment to professional standards and excellence in education.

The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, setting a reflective tone for the event. Vice Principal and Associate Dean of Basic Sciences, Prof Dr Sheema Farhan, delivered the welcome address, outlining the institute’s academic vision and greeting students and their families.
Principal Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani spoke about his professional journey and urged students to uphold integrity, dedication, compassion and perseverance as the cornerstones of a successful dental career.

The central moment of the ceremony was the presentation of white coats, symbolising students’ induction into the healthcare profession. The coats were presented by Prof Dr Mohammad Altamash, president of the institute and recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Institute Dean Prof Dr Ambreen Afzal, who also serves as Vice President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, along with Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani and Prof Dr Sheema Farhan.
The ceremony concluded with Prof Dr Ambreen Afzal administering the professional oath, formally initiating the students into their journey as dental practitioners committed to ethical practice, compassion and service to society.
