MEHAR: Lawyers in Mehar staged a protest and boycotted court proceedings over the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, condemning what they described as aggression by Israel and the United States.
The demonstration was organised by the Taluka Bar Association Mehar. As a result of the boycott, members of the public who had appeared for scheduled hearings were issued new dates and asked to return later.
Addressing the gathering, bar leaders including Advocate Saeed Panwhar, Advocate Dad Muhammad Magsi, Advocate Sher Chandio, and Advocate Najeeb Mahesar alleged that Israel and the United States had attacked Iran, causing the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and other Muslims. They described the reported attacks as “highly condemnable.”
The speakers warned that the policies of Israel and the United States threatened regional peace and amounted to an attack not only on Iran but on the wider Muslim world. They cautioned that other countries could face similar actions if such policies continued.
The protesting lawyers urged the United Nations to take notice of what they termed a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to initiate action against the United States and Israel.
