DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument, offered Fateha, and paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the country. During the visit, he received a detailed briefing on ongoing intelligence-based operations, border management measures, and developments under Operation Ghazab lil Haq.
Syed Asim Munir interacted with officers and troops in forward areas, praising their professionalism, vigilance, and morale. He condemned the use of Afghan soil by Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan for terrorism against Pakistan, stressing that peace requires the Afghan Taliban to renounce support for terrorist groups.
The Field Marshal expressed confidence in the combat readiness, coordination, and resilience of formations deployed along the western border. On arrival, he was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
