ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom has warned its citizens of heightened security risks in Pakistan, advising against travel to several regions due to rising tensions linked to Iran and Afghanistan, possible protests, and disruptions to air travel across the Middle East.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) highlighted that the regional situation has increased risks for travelers. Areas along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are particularly affected, with guidance to avoid all travel or limit movement to essential purposes.
Travel is also restricted near the Pakistan–India border, the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and in specific districts of Sindh and Punjab, including northern Sindh and Dera Ghazi Khan. British authorities warned about security threats around key infrastructure in Karachi, including Jinnah International Airport.
The advisory urged UK citizens in Pakistan to stay vigilant, avoid protests and crowded areas, and be prepared for rapid changes in security. Consular support or evacuation may be limited in a crisis.
