MEHAR: Newly elected office-bearers of the Primary Teachers Association (PTA) Taluka Mehar took oath during a simple ceremony held at Syed Ali Asghar Shah School in Mehar in respect of the holy month of Ramadan. The leadership pledged to work collectively for the protection of teachers’ rights and to address issues faced by primary school educators in the region.
The oath-taking ceremony was held for the unopposed office-bearers of the Primary Teachers Association (PTA) Taluka Mehar. The newly elected representatives included president Aijaz Ali Chandio, general secretary Abdul Samad Bughio, deputy general secretary Aijaz Mangi, senior vice-president Matloob Narejo, information secretary Liaquat Soomro and office secretary Nazeer Lakhair along with other members.
The office-bearers took oath from Abdul Rasheed Janwari, chairman of the appointed committee.
Speaking after the ceremony, taluka president Aijaz Chandio, general secretary Abdul Samad Bughio and other leaders said the PTA leadership would stand by primary school teachers in every difficult situation and make sincere efforts to resolve their professional issues.
They said the association would work to safeguard the basic rights of teachers and ensure that educators receive proper support and representation. The leaders added that the newly elected office-bearers would move forward together with all teachers and continue their struggle for the protection of teachers’ rights and improvement of the education sector.
During the ceremony, Mujahid Somro, who had been elected as finance secretary, announced his resignation from the position. Following his resignation, Zahid Hussain Somro was elected as the new finance secretary.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the departed souls of primary school teachers who passed away during service or after retirement. Teacher leader Muharram Ali Jatoi and other participants expressed sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families.
