WASHINGTON: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States could remove sanctions on more Russian oil, a day after issuing a 30-day waiver allowing stranded Russian crude to be sold to India.
Bessent noted that hundreds of millions of barrels of sanctioned crude remain at sea, and by lifting sanctions on some of these, the Treasury could create additional supply. He added that the US is actively exploring this option.
