BEIJING: China has called for the immediate cessation of attacks on Iran, expressing strong opposition to the escalation of conflict in the region.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that the war should never have happened and emphasized that the use of force is not a solution to problems.
He also noted that plans aimed at regime change have not gained public support, stressing the need for diplomatic solutions instead of military confrontation.
Wang Yi further urged respect for the security and sovereignty of Iran and Gulf countries, warning that the conflict must not be allowed to spread further. He called on major powers to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
