SUKKUR: A five-year-old boy, Sameer Hatar, was fatally attacked by stray dogs in the village of Muhammad Hayat Hatar, near Gambat in Khairpur. The child was playing outside his home when the dogs mauled him, leaving him with severe injuries.
He was rushed to GIMS Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. The family has urged authorities to take immediate measures to control the stray dog population, citing a rise in such incidents in the area.
Deputy Commissioner Khairpur, Altaf Ahmed Chachar, has taken notice of the tragic incident and directed Assistant Commissioner UT Khairpur, Tauqeer Ahmed Khuhro, to investigate and submit a detailed report. The AC visited the grieving family, offering condolences and assurances of support.
The DC has also instructed authorities to launch a campaign to eliminate stray dogs and take strict action against any negligent officials.
The incident has raised serious concern among local residents, highlighting the urgent need for effective measures to address the growing stray dog menace in the region.
