KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Juma-tul-Wida, provincial Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said.
Speaking in Karachi, Shah also revealed that one of the city’s roads will be named after Ali Khamenei.
He added that authorities will not allow a rally on Shahrah-e-Faisal on Juma-tul-Wida and advised organisations to hold processions on their traditional routes.
The announcement comes as processions are being held across Pakistan on Youm-e-Ali. In Karachi, several roads and streets in the Saddar area have been sealed with containers as part of security arrangements.
