WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected a proposal by Russian President Vladimir Putin to transfer Iran’s enriched uranium to Russia, according to U.S. media reports.
The proposal was reportedly part of a potential agreement aimed at ending the ongoing conflict involving Tehran. Reports said Putin made the offer during a phone call with Trump earlier this week, but the U.S. president declined the suggestion.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States Department of Defense had decided to deploy thousands of United States Marine Corps troops to the Middle East.
The request came at a time when Iran was allegedly preparing attacks on ships and laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
