WASHINGTON: U.S. Vice President JD Vance has claimed that Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei was injured during a recent American operation.
Responding to a question about Khamenei’s condition, Vance said the United States was aware that Mojtaba Khamenei had been wounded.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth went further, saying Khamenei’s face had been affected and that he had not appeared in public since the incident.
Meanwhile, an Iranian official said Mojtaba Khamenei had sustained minor injuries but continued to carry out his official duties.
