TANDO ALLAHYAR: Armed robbers snatched cash, a mobile phone and a motorcycle from a citizen in a daylight robbery in Tando Allahyar as residents complained of worsening law and order ahead of Eid.
According to the victim, three unidentified men riding a 125cc motorcycle intercepted him near Siddiqui Farm and robbed him at gunpoint.
Samar Ali, son of Bahadur Kaleri, said the attackers surrounded him while he was returning home after withdrawing Rs200,000 from a private bank. He alleged that the robbers beat him and then fled with the cash, his mobile phone, wallet and motorcycle.
The incident was reported to B Section police station. However, the victim claimed that police had yet to register a formal first information report (FIR).
“They told me they would first complete an investigation and then register the FIR,” Samar Ali said, adding that citizens were being left vulnerable as criminals operated openly in daylight.
He said people were already facing fear due to rising robberies as Eid approached and criticised police for failing to ensure public safety.
Samar Ali appealed to the Inspector General of Police Sindh, the DIG Hyderabad and the SSP Tando Allahyar to ensure that an FIR was registered, the suspects were arrested and his stolen cash and belongings were recovered.
