KARACHI: Labor representatives have expressed deep appreciation for the worker-friendly and forward-looking decisions of Sindh Employees Social Security Institution Commissioner Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro, particularly his recent directive to establish a Central Medical Store at the Kidney Centre in Landhi.
In a joint statement, labor leaders Muhammad Wahid Khan and Abdul Sattar Niazi of Landhi praised the move, saying it will ensure that medicine procurement orders issued by the head office are carried out without interference or delays, guaranteeing transparency and timely delivery to eligible patients.
“The dedication, honesty, and diligence with which the procurement department is functioning will now translate into medicines reaching patients promptly and accurately,” the statement read, highlighting that the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to accountability and public service.
The labor leaders stressed that the new Central Medical Store is a significant step toward strengthening the medical system under the social security framework, while also reinforcing workers’ confidence in the institution. They urged Commissioner Kalhoro to inaugurate the facility as soon as possible so that the message of uncompromising commitment to worker health and welfare reaches all field offices and labor organizations.
The statement also acknowledged the contributions of Provincial Labor Minister Saeed Ghani, Medical Adviser Dr Kamran Awan, and other key officials whose combined efforts made the project possible.
Labor leaders expressed confidence that the store’s formal opening will bring a more organized, transparent, and efficient system of medicine supply across social security hospitals, ensuring better healthcare services for the worker community.
