TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to target Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying it will pursue and kill him if he is alive. The statement came amid rising tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States as the conflict in the region intensifies.
According to reports carried by Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency and cited by Al Jazeera, the IRGC declared that it would continue efforts to locate Netanyahu. In its statement, the force described the Israeli leader as a “killer of children” and said it would pursue him with full strength.
The remarks come as the confrontation between Iran and Israel continues to escalate, with growing military and political pressure across the Middle East following recent attacks and retaliatory actions involving both sides and the United States.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The Israeli military claimed it targeted infrastructure linked to the Iran-backed group and locations used to launch rocket attacks in the area of Al-Qatrani.
The IDF also said it struck command centres associated with Hezbollah’s Radwan Force in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, as fighting along Israel’s northern front continues to intensify.
