BAJUR: Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have urged the Pakistan Army to eliminate Fitna al-Khawarij and their supporters following a mortar attack on civilian areas in Bajur allegedly carried out by Afghan forces. The appeal came after the cross-border shelling reportedly killed innocent civilians and triggered strong public reaction across the province.
Local residents condemned the attack, saying Afghan forces targeted unarmed civilians. They described the shelling of populated areas as inhumane and called on Afghan authorities to stop targeting ordinary people.
One resident said bombing civilian areas and the loss of four members from a single household reflected extreme brutality. He urged the Pakistani government and security forces to take firm action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Residents of Bajur appealed to the Pakistan Army to take decisive action against Fitna al-Khawarij and their backers. Some citizens also criticized the provincial government, saying they had not seen any strong condemnation of the incident from provincial ministers or officials.
