TEL AVIV/TEHRAN:: Israel has announced detailed plans for at least three more weeks of military operations against Iran, with its forces continuing overnight airstrikes across multiple Iranian cities. The Israeli military says it still has thousands of targets inside Iran, focusing on ballistic missile sites, nuclear facilities, and security infrastructure, aiming to weaken Tehran’s ability to threaten Israel.
The US-Israeli conflict with Iran has now entered its third week, with no clear end in sight. Iranian drone strikes temporarily shut Dubai International Airport and hit key oil facilities in the UAE, disrupting global energy markets and driving Brent crude above $104 per barrel. The ongoing hostilities have also closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil and LNG flows, raising fears of higher global inflation.
US President Donald Trump has called on international partners to help reopen the strait, warning NATO members of a “very bad” future if they fail to assist. China, Japan, and several European nations have so far indicated limited or no involvement in the effort.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Tehran has not requested a ceasefire or held direct talks with the US. Overnight strikes in Markazi province reportedly killed five and wounded seven, with residential areas, schools, and infrastructure damaged. Israeli airstrikes also targeted Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz.
In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed missile attacks on Tel Aviv and US military bases in the region. Saudi Arabia intercepted dozens of drones aimed at its eastern regions, and Dubai contained fires caused by Iranian drone strikes on fuel storage facilities.
Meanwhile, Israel continued strikes in Lebanon and Gaza, targeting Hezbollah and Hamas positions, with limited ground operations reported in southern Lebanon.
Energy disruptions, rising oil prices, and continued military escalation highlight a rapidly worsening security situation in the Middle East, with no immediate diplomatic solution in sight.
