ISLAMABAD: Authorities have arrested 22 individuals, including 15 Afghan nationals living illegally in the country, during ongoing operations against undocumented foreign residents and criminal elements across multiple districts. According to official sources, search and combing operations were conducted in Westridge, New Town, and Ratta Amral areas of Humak Town, resulting in the apprehension of suspects for violating residency laws and alleged involvement in criminal activities.
Sources further revealed that joint search and combing operations were carried out in Kallar Sayedan, Wah Cantonment, and Taxila, with security forces thoroughly screening residential areas and checking documents of residents. The crackdown has intensified in the twin cities as well, with phased screening and verification processes continuing at sensitive locations throughout Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In Murree and Chakwal, authorities have expanded the operation to include screening and checking of residential populations, markets, and hotels as part of the broader security initiative. The ongoing operations reflect the government’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and maintaining public safety, with officials indicating that such intelligence-based exercises will continue in the coming days to identify and apprehend individuals residing illegally or posing security threats.
