TEHRAN: Israel has launched a fresh wave of large-scale attacks on Iran’s capital Tehran, targeting infrastructure across the city as the conflict between the two nations enters a devastating new phase. The Israeli military confirmed it had initiated a new wave of extensive strikes, specifically targeting infrastructure sites in Tehran, while media reports indicate explosions rocked multiple locations across the country.
According to reports, a major blast was recorded in the Andarzgoo area of Tehran, while a center belonging to the Basij force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps was struck in the Kamranieh district. Several intense explosions were also heard near the Sa’dabad Palace complex, though the nature of these blasts could not be immediately verified. Prior to the Tehran strikes, aerial attacks were also reported in the regions of Karaj, Shahriar, and Shiraz.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps reported that in the city of Arak, an American-Israeli attack resulted in the martyrdom of a newborn baby, along with his two-year-old sister, mother, and grandmother. The tragic civilian casualties have drawn condemnation, though Israeli officials maintain they are targeting military infrastructure.
Iran’s Ministry of Health has released updated casualty figures since the conflict began on February 28, reporting at least 1,444 people killed and 18,551 wounded in American and Israeli strikes. The mounting death toll reflects the intensity of the aerial campaign that has targeted both military installations and, according to Iranian officials, residential areas. The strikes mark a significant escalation in the regional conflict, with Israel appearing to expand its operations deeper into Iranian territory.
