ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has asserted that the clarity of Pakistan’s policy will be witnessed by the entire world when the appropriate time arrives. Speaking on Geo News program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath,” Tarar addressed multiple aspects of Pakistan’s regional security posture and ongoing military operations.
The information minister stated that the Afghan Taliban regime must now decide whether it stands with terrorists or with Pakistan. “The threads of terrorism in Pakistan connect to Afghanistan,” Tarar emphasized, reiterating that the objectives of Operation Ghazab-e-Lilhq are clearly defined. He confirmed that strikes were conducted against terrorist sanctuaries and infrastructure belonging to either militant groups or the Afghan Taliban regime across the border.
Addressing allegations regarding civilian casualties, Tarar dismissed what he described as the Afghan Taliban regime’s attempt to create a false narrative about hospital bombings. “The Afghan Taliban regime had to delete their false posts,” he said, referring to social media claims that were later retracted. He pointed to secondary explosions at targeted sites as evidence that ammunition depots were present at the locations struck by Pakistani forces.
“Where we carried out strikes, ammunition was stored there; the explosions there are proof of this,” Tarar asserted, defending the precision and legitimacy of Pakistan’s military actions. He reiterated that Pakistan’s position on counterterrorism remains consistent and principle-based.
Regarding regional diplomacy, Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with Saudi Arabia and confirmed that Islamabad remains in contact with all friendly nations. “We have said we stand with Saudi Arabia and will continue to stand with them,” he stated, highlighting Pakistan’s careful balancing of relationships amid complex regional dynamics involving Iran, Israel, Gulf states, and Afghanistan.
