SUKKUR: Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development marked International Women’s Day by hosting a virtual seminar titled “Investing in Women to Accelerate the Progress.”
The event was organised by the Student Welfare Office in collaboration with the Society of Women Technologists & Entrepreneurs, with the aim of emphasising the importance of investing in women’s education, leadership and technological innovation as a means to achieve sustainable social and economic development.
Prof Dr Samina Rajper, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and former Director ORIC at Shah Abdul Latif University, delivered the keynote address. She highlighted the role of technology, research and women’s leadership in driving national development.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rasool Bux Mahar presided over the session, appreciating the guest speaker for her contribution and commending the organisers for hosting a successful event aligned with institutional goals.
The programme began with a welcome address by the President of SWTE and concluded with a vote of thanks by Engr Abdul Shakoor, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor on Student Affairs. An honorary E-Shield was presented to the guest speaker, while all registered participants will receive digital certificates.
