LAHORE: The annual matriculation examinations will commence across Punjab from tomorrow, with 14 examination centres in the provincial capital declared sensitive ahead of the papers. According to sources, the sensitive centres in Lahore include Government ND Islamia High School Ichhra, Government High School Barki, Government Science College Barki, Government High School Atoki Awan, Government High School Jallumore, Chohang, Maraka Quarter and Sher Shah Colony.
Sources further stated that four centres in Kasur, seven in Sheikhupura and one centre in Nankana Sahib have also been declared sensitive as authorities tighten security measures to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. The first paper on March 27 will be of Arabic, Commercial Geography and History, with approximately 250,000 candidates expected to appear across 880 examination centres.
Twenty-six centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras, while Section 144 will remain enforced at all centres, prohibiting entry to any unauthorized individuals. Candidates will only be allowed entry into examination centres after identity verification. The final paper of the matriculation exams will be held on April 16 for Punjabi and History of Islam, while the ninth grade examinations will commence on April 17.
