KARACHI: Sindh governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi said increasing bilateral trade between Pakistan and United Kingdom was in the interest of both countries, adding that there were ample opportunities for foreign investment, particularly in Sindh.

He expressed these views during a meeting at the Governor House with a delegation from the Pakistan Britain Business Council led by its chief executive Rashid Iqbal. The delegation included prominent business figures from both countries.
Matters of mutual interest, promotion of investment and ways to further strengthen trade relations were discussed in detail during the meeting.
Rashid Iqbal informed the governor that British investors were being encouraged to take advantage of investment and business opportunities in Pakistan. He said that, as a result of the council’s efforts, Pakistan’s ranking on the United Kingdom’s foreign investment priority list had improved significantly.
He added that the Pakistan Britain Business Council was playing an effective role in the fields of education, technology, IT and the food sector.
The governor said promoting trade and investment was essential for economic growth and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to facilitating investors and improving the business climate in Sindh.
