KARACHI: Police in Malir carried out a raid in Ibrahim Hyderi and arrested a man allegedly involved in the production of harmful gutka and mawa, according to Malir Police.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by the SHO of Ibrahim Hyderi conducted a covert operation in the Ibrahim Hyderi area and arrested a suspect identified as Muhammad Rehan.
Police said the accused was allegedly manufacturing gutka and mawa inside a residential house and supplying it for sale. During the raid, officers recovered 75 sacks of areca nut weighing around 750 kilograms along with five kilograms of prepared gutka and mawa.
A case has been registered against the suspect and further investigation is under way, police said.
