SUKKUR: The deputy commissioner of Khairpur, Altaf Ahmed Chachar, had ordered a transparent inquiry into the murder of Khalida Chandio in village Bitto Chandio near Tando Masti after chairing a high-level meeting on the case.
The meeting had been attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Abdul Hakeem Dharejo, District Health Officer Dr Kaleemullah Shaikh, Sindh Human Rights Commission member Khadim Hussain Dahot, Deputy Director Social Welfare Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, Assistant Director Social Welfare Mudassir Rahoojo, DSP City Asadullah, Child Protection Officer Qamaruddin Channa, Human Rights Commission member Deepa Kumari, DSP Central Jail Waheed Ali Jiskani, Assistant Director Women Development Daniyal Kakepoto and other officials.
Describing the incident as highly tragic and unacceptable, Chachar had stressed that strict action would be taken and that no negligence would be tolerated. He had reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to protecting women’s rights and ensuring justice.
