DADU: A joint campaign on eye health awareness and polio eradication was stepped up in Dadu by Hands CBM (Christian Blind Mission), with teams conducting outreach activities in villages and educational institutions across the district.
According to the project team, lecture sessions were held at Government High School Pyaro Goth, Government High School Taga, Government Ustad Bukhari Degree College Dadu, Peoples High School Dadu and Government High School Dost Muhammad Marri, among other institutions. Awareness activities were also carried out in villages including Bakar Jamali, Rambako, Pyaro Goth Station and Dilawar Khoso.
The team provided information on various eye diseases, their early diagnosis, preventive measures and the importance of timely treatment to help prevent vision loss.
Alongside this, the project, in collaboration with the Government of Sindh, continued to support the national polio eradication campaign. Awareness sessions were organised in rural areas to inform parents about the importance of administering polio drops to children on time.
During the sessions, parents were reminded that vaccinating children against polio was both a national and moral responsibility, and were encouraged to motivate others in their communities to take part in the campaign.
Project officials said that awareness of eye health and prevention of diseases such as polio was essential for building a healthy society, adding that the Hands CBM Dadu team would continue such initiatives to ensure accurate health information reached every فرد.
