SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: One man was killed and his brother critically injured when unidentified armed men opened fire in Sarki Kot, an area of Karikot near Wana in South Waziristan. According to sources, the attack happened suddenly when unknown assailants fired indiscriminately at the two brothers.
Muhammad Aslam Wazir, who worked in the health department, was killed on the spot, while his brother Noor Salam, an SDO in WAPDA, sustained serious injuries. The injured man was shifted to a nearby hospital where he remained in critical condition, hospital sources said.
Following the incident, fear and panic spread in the area. Local elders and residents strongly condemned the attack and urged authorities to improve law and order. The incident has once again raised concerns over the security situation in South Waziristan, with growing anxiety among the local population.
