KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit of the CIA Karachi carried out two operations against criminal elements and drug dealers on 24 April 2026, a spokesperson for the SSP SIU said.
In the first operation, officers conducted a raid in the Brigade area and arrested two street criminals. The suspects were wanted by police in multiple cases and were described as habitual offenders. They were identified as Muhammad Rehan and Ahmed Raza.
Police said the suspects had been involved in street crime incidents across various parts of the city, particularly in Central and East districts. Two pistols along with rounds were recovered from their possession.
In a second operation, SIU/CIA officials carried out a raid within the limits of Super Market police station and arrested two drug dealers linked to an international narcotics network. The arrested suspects were identified as Imran Khalid and Tariq.
Police said 1,010 grams of high-quality heroin were recovered from their possession. Further investigation suggested that the suspects were close associates of an international drug dealer, Fauzia.
Authorities said the suspects had been running an organised online drug distribution network in Karachi. Cases had been registered against the arrested suspects at the SIU police station. Their records were being examined and further investigation was under way.
