TANDO ALLAHYAR: A number of bodies discovered in Tando Allahyar had been linked by officials to an intensified police crackdown on narcotics in the district, as authorities stepped up operations against what they described as entrenched drug networks operating across multiple localities.
Despite a formal ban on the sale and use of drugs, illegal narcotics trade had continued in the jurisdiction of several police stations, including A Section, B Section, Chambar, Bakera Sharif, Omar Sanda, Nasarpur, Pyaro Lon, Sultanabad and Mashaikh Hoti.
Police sources said these areas had long been flagged for the widespread availability of substances such as gutka, mawa, ice, crystal heroin, hashish, bhang, Indian Safina gutka, Zaid 21 and locally distilled liquor.
Officials said the proliferation of drugs had increasingly drawn in younger people, with addiction reportedly rising among school and college students.
