DERA ISMAIL KHAN: An awareness walk was organised at Government Primary School Bahari Colony in collaboration with the National Commission for Human Development as part of an enrolment campaign aimed at highlighting the importance of education and encouraging greater school admissions.
A tree plantation activity was also carried out on the occasion to raise awareness among children about environmental protection and the importance of greenery. NCHD circle in-charge Safia and Asma Sadaf attended the event as special guests.
Head teacher of the school and district president of APTA, Muhammad Farooq, welcomed the guests and thanked them for their visit. He said the purpose of the enrolment campaign was to ensure that every child received education and no child was deprived of this basic right.
New students were enrolled during the ceremony, while free textbooks were also distributed among existing students. The tree plantation drive was formally launched with the planting of a sapling, and the awareness walk conveyed messages promoting education across the area.
Teachers, students and members of the local community participated in the walk, expressing their commitment to educational development. Participants carried banners and placards carrying slogans related to enrolment and plantation campaigns.
At the conclusion of the event, Muhammad Farooq thanked NCHD representatives Safia and Asma Sadaf for their efforts in promoting education, enrolment and environmental awareness, and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the campaign so that every child could attend school and work towards a better future.
