KHAIRPUR: The literary contribution of Dr Najma Noor was highlighted at a book launch ceremony held in Khairpur, where speakers described her as a versatile personality in Sindhi literature with creative work in both poetry and prose.

The event marked the launch of her two books Kakar Ki Wasayij and Aan Ubhari Aahiyan, organised by Popat Publishing House at Sindh Children’s Academy Khairpur.
Speaking at the ceremony, Najma Noor said she had spent her life in continuous struggle and that the hardships she faced during her journey had been preserved in the form of poetry and writings.

Renowned poet and broadcaster Mukhtiar Malak said her poetry was melodious and recalled that he had recorded her poem Pakheera! Maran Ja Day Disa in the voice of Sarmad Sindhi.
Poet and broadcaster Kausar Buriro said that after earlier works including Chand Ain Ajrak, Subah Jo Salam and Noor-ul-Wara, the two newly launched books had become an important part of her literary identity.

Travel writer Qurban Mangi said three of her books had been published by Popat and described her as a writer representing the sentiments of ordinary people.
Professor Shah Muhammad Lahrani said Najma Noor had lived a successful life from her career at Shah Abdul Latif University to her role as a mother.
Dr Imdad Sahito said he had worked with her at Shah Abdul Latif University and described her as a respected teacher.
Other speakers included several writers, poets and academics who shared their views on her work. Poetic recitations from her writings were presented by Sharif Abbasi and Salar Sindhi.
The event was conducted by poet and compere Amr Iqbal and was attended by a large number of guests from literary, artistic and cultural circles. Dinner arrangements were also made for attendees.
