KARACHI: The chairman of the Town Municipal Corporation Korangi, Mohammad Naeem Sheikh, said Pakistan’s armed forces remained the guarantors of the country’s security and that the entire nation stood alongside the military.
He made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing a rally held on the first day of “Hafta Maarka-e-Haq” under the administration of Korangi Town.
The rally, led by Naeem Sheikh under the title “Maarka-e-Haq”, drew large participation from students of schools run by the Town Municipal Corporation Korangi.
Participants carried national flags to express solidarity with Pakistan and raised slogans in support of the armed forces during the procession.
Tributes were also paid to the services of Pakistan’s military for the defence and security of the country.
Students carried placards and banners bearing messages of patriotism and national unity.
Addressing the gathering, Naeem Sheikh said the younger generation should play a positive role in the country’s development and stability and take pride in national institutions.
He said the purpose of such rallies was to promote patriotism among the public, particularly young people, and to send a clear message to hostile elements that the Pakistani nation remained united.
Special prayers were offered at the end of the rally for the country’s security, progress and stability.
