KHAIRPUR: Students from Shah Abdul Latif University took part in the International Students Convention 2026 in Islamabad, where the university’s delegation and student societies attracted attention for their participation, leadership activities and community engagement initiatives.

The university said the delegation represented the institution under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Yousuf Khushk, whose administration had promoted what it described as an inclusive and progressive academic environment encouraging students to participate in co-curricular and community-focused activities alongside their studies.
The SALU delegation was accompanied by Dr Ali Raza Lashari, coordinator of the Students Societies Center, who represented the university in academic, youth engagement and networking sessions attended by students and university representatives from across Pakistan.
The convention served as a national platform for dialogue, collaboration, cultural exchange and discussion among young participants from different parts of the country.
During the event, Dr Lashari delivered a presentation outlining the work and achievements of the Students Societies Center at SALU.
He said the university had established 42 active student societies aimed at promoting leadership, volunteerism, social responsibility, creativity and community service among students.
Lashari also highlighted the role played by SALU student volunteers during the 2022 floods, saying student societies had participated in rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities that supported more than 46,000 affected people in different areas.
The delegation also presented student-led projects linked to education, climate awareness, cultural harmony, entrepreneurship, social welfare and youth development, which were appreciated by participants and organisers at the convention.
University officials said SALU’s participation in the International Students Convention 2026 reflected its commitment to encouraging youth leadership, strengthening academic engagement and preparing students to contribute at national and international levels.
