KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic diversion plan due to the construction of a new flyover at Azeempura Interchange, aiming to manage congestion across key city routes including Shahrah-e-Faisal and Korangi.
According to officials, vehicles coming from Singer Chowrangi and Korangi towards Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted via Shahrah Bhutto Interchange and redirected towards Defence.
Rita Plot Chowk has been completely closed for traffic from all directions during the construction period.
Traffic coming from the airport and Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted from 2 Number Chowrangi in Shah Faisal and rerouted towards Defence through EBM Causeway or Baloch Colony.
Motorists have been advised to use EBM Causeway and Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway as alternative routes for travel towards Defence and Korangi.
Vehicles travelling from the airport to Korangi via Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted through Quaidabad, as direct access via Shah Faisal Colony has been blocked.
Similarly, traffic from Defence and Korangi towards the airport will be rerouted via Malir after exiting Shahrah Bhutto and can rejoin Shahrah-e-Faisal through Malir Mandir Road.
Authorities also announced that rickshaws, motorcycles and loader vehicles are banned on Shahrah Bhutto, while other vehicles are permitted. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with traffic staff and plan their routes accordingly. For assistance, the public can contact the traffic helpline 1915.
