KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency said it had arrested a suspect involved in a visa fraud case related to Malaysia, following a targeted operation in Karachi.
According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency Karachi Zone on 14 May 2026, the action was carried out on the instructions of the Director FIA Karachi Zone and under the supervision of the Deputy Director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
Inspector Babar Ali arrested the suspect, identified as Muhammad Muneeb, officials said. The agency said the suspect was accused of defrauding a complainant in the name of obtaining a Malaysia visa and arranging travel documents. It added that the suspect had received Rs234,000 from the victim on false promises of sending him abroad.
Officials said an inquiry confirmed the allegations, after which a case was registered and the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.
The FIA spokesperson said the crackdown against individuals involved in deceiving citizens under the pretext of overseas employment and visa facilitation had been intensified.
