NEW DELHI: Former head of India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing, A S Dulat, has said that India’s efforts to isolate Pakistan globally are instead leaving India increasingly isolated.
In an interview with the BBC, Dulat said that narratives about pushing Pakistan into diplomatic isolation are outdated and no longer reflect current realities.
He added that Pakistan will neither break nor collapse, rejecting long-standing assumptions about its political stability.
Dulat further said that Pakistan is now playing a mediating role between Iran and the United States, a position he argued India should have taken advantage of in regional diplomacy.
He also stressed that the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through dialogue, adding that talks between India and Pakistan should never be halted despite political tensions.
His remarks have drawn attention in diplomatic circles amid ongoing regional geopolitical shifts.
