KARACHI: A high-level committee of senior police officers has held its first meeting in the so-called “Pinky case”, where officials reviewed progress and agreed on a series of investigative measures.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Inspector General of Police, Karachi Azad Khan, and attended by senior officials including DIGs Asad Raza, Azfar Mahesar, Amir Farooqui and Sheeraz Nazir, along with SSP Samiullah Somro. During the briefing, DIG South Asad Raza updated the committee in detail on the ongoing investigation and recent developments in the case.
Officials decided to expand coordination with other agencies, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), by formally writing to them for assistance and relevant records.
It was also agreed that individuals allegedly linked to drug consumption within what authorities are describing as the “Pinky cartel” network would be approached and considered as potential witnesses in the case.
