HANGU: A special ceremony was held at the Government College of Technology in Kohat to recognise outstanding academic achievement among BTech students, with honorary cheques presented to those securing first, second and third positions in the second, fourth and sixth semesters.
The event was attended by the chairman of the IMC Committee, Engineer Syed Amir Ali Shah, as chief guest, alongside committee member and social worker Isar Ali Bangash. Also present were the college principal, Engineer Pir Muhammad, Vice Principal Farooq Ahmad, Job Placement Officer Engineer Shakeel Zaman Khattak, Head of the BSc Electrical Engineering Department Engineer Akhtar Manan Khattak, Estate Officer Khalid Mahmood Qureshi, faculty members and a large number of students.
Addressing the gathering, Syed Amir Ali Shah and Isar Ali Bangash said that quality education, technical skills and a merit-based system were essential for national development.
They congratulated the award-winning students, saying that recognising academic excellence encourages young people to work harder and strive for higher standards.
Principal Engineer Pir Muhammad said the college administration was continuing efforts to provide students with modern technical training and an improved learning environment, enabling them to succeed in their professional careers.
At the end of the ceremony, the students expressed their appreciation for the recognition and thanked their teachers and guests. Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting merit and academic excellence across the institution.
