DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police have registered a case against two brothers accused of chaining and confining their elderly father for five days in an alleged attempt to force him to transfer his agricultural land into their names.

The incident took place in Kot Jai village in Tehsil Paharpur, where the elderly man, identified as Allah Yar, was allegedly locked inside a dark room after refusing to hand over ownership of his property to his sons.
According to SP Paharpur Muhammad Iqbal Baloch, Allah Yar had intended to divide his property among all of his children, including his daughters, in accordance with Islamic and legal inheritance laws. Police allege that his sons, Habibullah and Shoaib, wanted the entire property transferred exclusively to themselves.
When their father refused, the two men allegedly tied him with chains and ropes and kept him confined inside a room for five days.
The case came to light after the victim’s daughter alerted the police. Officers raided the house in Kot Jai village and rescued the elderly man, who was found restrained inside the room.
Police have registered a case at Paharpur Police Station and launched raids at several locations to arrest the suspects, who remain at large.
Investigators said the allegations underscore the serious consequences of property disputes within families. The investigation is ongoing.
