SUKKUR: Director General of the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) Waqar Hussain Phulpoto laid the foundation stone of a new additional office block and inaugurated newly constructed residential quarters during a visit to the agency’s regional office in Sukkur.
The director general also reviewed ongoing development work and said the Sindh government was upgrading SEPA’s regional offices with modern facilities to strengthen environmental governance and improve public services.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Directors Mir Mureed Ali Talpur and Ajmal Khan Tunio, Law Officer Habib-ur-Rehman, Assistant Directors Dr Gul Ameer Sunbal and Asadullah Tunio, Executive Engineer Aftab Ali Ansari, and other officials.
During the inspection, he found that the factory lacked an adequate wastewater treatment system and directed the district office to issue a notice to the management over the alleged environmental violations.
