SUKKUR: Authorities have recovered thousands of maunds of allegedly hoarded wheat during an operation against illegal storage in Kot Diji, officials said. Assistant Commissioner Kot Diji Darya Khan Chandio, along with police and Rangers personnel, conducted the operation at the closed Gopang Flour Mill, where a large quantity of stored wheat was seized.
According to the assistant commissioner, the recovered wheat has been shifted to a government food storage facility. Officials said action against wheat hoarding is continuing across the area and warned that illegal storage and unauthorised movement of wheat outside the region would not be tolerated.
The operation is part of efforts to ensure transparency in wheat supply and prevent artificial shortages, authorities said.
