DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) District Dera Ismail Khan Vice Ameer Haji Noor Asghar Wazir has criticised Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Fatahullah Khan Miankhel over his recent remarks about JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, describing the comments as “irresponsible” and contrary to political ethics.
In a statement, Wazir said political criticism should be based on facts and democratic principles. He urged the PPP lawmaker to focus on his own political performance before making allegations against other political leaders.
The JUI-F leader also referred to public discussions surrounding Miankhel’s political career and said elected representatives should remain accountable to the people through their performance.
Wazir further made allegations relating to the kidnapping and recovery of Miankhel’s brother, Qaisar Khan Miankhel, and associated financial matters. However, he did not provide evidence to support these claims, and they have not been independently verified.
He warned that if Fatahullah Khan Miankhel did not withdraw his remarks and adopt what he described as a more responsible political approach, JUI-F would present its position and evidence before the public.
The JUI-F leader also criticised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and the Pakistan Peoples Party over what he alleged were political compromises regarding the appointment of the provincial opposition leader. These claims have not been independently verified, and no response from the PPP or the governor was immediately available.
Wazir said JUI-F believed in politics based on respect, dialogue and public service, adding that the party would continue to respond to criticism through political arguments rather than personal attacks.
He concluded by saying that differences of opinion were a normal part of democratic politics but urged all political parties to avoid personal attacks and unsubstantiated allegations, and instead promote political tolerance, responsible dialogue and democratic values.
The PPP and the individuals named in the statement had not responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
