KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed law enforcement agencies to further strengthen operations against criminal elements, saying that no negligence would be tolerated in maintaining law and order across the province.
The directives were issued during an important security meeting chaired by the chief minister, which was attended by provincial ministers, senior government officials, police leadership and representatives of relevant security agencies.
The meeting reviewed the overall security situation in Sindh and received a detailed briefing on measures taken to improve public safety. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the government’s foremost responsibility and there would be no compromise in this regard.
He directed police and other law enforcement agencies to make operations against terrorists, drug traffickers and extortionists more effective. He also stressed the need for continued coordination among all security institutions to ensure a stronger response against threats to peace and stability.
The briefing presented during the meeting showed that Sindh had witnessed a decline in serious crimes, terrorism-related incidents and street crime during the first six months of 2026. Officials attributed the improvement to intelligence-based policing, better coordination among institutions and targeted operations against criminal networks.
The chief minister instructed security agencies to further expand intelligence-led operations and accelerate action against drug dealers and their facilitators without any discrimination.
The meeting was also informed about significant achievements made in coastal and katcha areas under Operation Nijat-e-Mehran. Officials said the operation had contributed to improving security conditions in areas previously affected by criminal activities.
